US Peace Corps, Ngabu, Malawi, Africa: October 2003- November 2005
Stephanie taught at Makande Community Day Secondary School in the town of Ngabu in Malawi, a small country in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to teaching high school students math and English, performed duties including, but not limited to:
- Led the Writer’s Club
- Arranged the donation of 15 computers to this rural school, taught computer classes to teachers, students, and community members
- Provided private tutoring to individuals and groups, facilitated study groups
- Assisted with the National Peace Corps Girls Camp (Camp GLOW)
- Assisted with and taught at Summer School 2004, for motivated students from around the country
- Served as leadership and trainer for the peer support network for volunteers
